The SOS -5088 Mines Counter Measures Buoyancy Compensating Vest
SOS buoyancy compensating vest has been designed for the Royal Australian Navy clearance divers when operating in the mine clearance role either overtly or covertly.
• Purpose designed for use with the A5800 Semi-closed Mixed Gas Re-breather system, the vest houses a single compensating bladder, using two 0.35L compressed air bottles to supply the compensating bladder. These can also provide a limited emergency air supply to the operator or other endangered divers.
This vest has been designed for operations involving magnetically triggered munitions and meets or exceeds the RAN’s requirements for magnetic signature. The compressed air bottles are manufactured using non-ferrous components.
