• The SOS Marine Drop-Leg Holster systems consists of a right or left handed holster worn on the thigh, Double Magazine carrier worn on the opposite thigh, an adjustable Duty Belt and two adjustable ‘D’ ring tabs.
• Currently the holster is manufactured to suit the Browning 9mm L9A1 Self Loading Pistol.
• The holster system is manufactured from 1000 denier ballistic nylon cloth with foam stiffening. 50mm double-band elastic with quick-release adjustable side-release buckles is used to secure the holster and magazine carrier to the user’s leg.
• A thumb-break safety strap is used to retain the pistol in the holster during normal activities.
• A positive securing strap secures the pistol in the holster during rigorous activities such as fast-roping and boarding.
• Once the rigorous activity is completed, the positive safety can be unclipped and fastened to the suspension webbing to safely retain it away from the holster.
• A pouch is provided on the front of the holster for an additional magazine, tactical torch or multi-tool.
• A small steel ‘D’ ring is fitted to the holster for lanyard attachment.
• The magazine carrier is of the same construction as the holster and provides carriage for two spare magazines, giving the total system capacity for spare magazines to three.
• The Duty Belt is made three layers of 50mm width polyester webbing. The belt is adjustable and uses hook and loop fastener to secure adjustments and to locate the holster, magazine carrier, and ‘D’ ring tabs on the belt.
• Two ‘D’ Ring Tabs (Fig. 4) are fitted to the Duty Belt to provide securing points for a pistol lanyard (part SOS-5040 – NSN: 8465-66-145-5871) providing greater arc of movement to the pistol user.
