Many law enforcement agencies use 'Bum bag' holsters for convenience during plain-clothes operations. This type of holster allows the officer to carry additional items such as handcuffs and expandable batons, as well as their firearm in total concealment. The covert 'Bum bag' holster fits small to medium frame revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. The internal holster uses a Cordura holster with an expanding elastic band and adjustable thumb-break safety strap to retain the firearm. An additional pocket is provided above the holster for a spare speed-loader or magazine. The concealing flap of the holster is held closed by a self-repairing zip fastener and a press stud tab. Drawing the firearm is a simple motion of grasping the tab with the no-master hand and pulling down and away, exposing the holster for the master hand to complete a cross-draw presentation of the firearm. A removable department ID tab can be provided to customers, to assist in identification of officers once an action has been commenced. The holster is also available in left-handed models and can be custom made for large frame revolvers and pistols.
